The project begins with an analysis of the information to be presented from a business perspective. Based on this analysis, design and interaction prototypes are defined with the user. Due to the complexity of these projects there is a broad set of tools that can be used so the most suitable technology is chosen depending on each case, usually Pentaho ( CDE, PDI and BI Server), Angular JS, High Chart, Raphael and D3js. The design raises diferent technical solutions depending on the final deployment environment; in the case of autonomous dashboards used in video wall systems the information is shown in real-time without any type of interaction; others, such as those oriented to mobile or desktop, are designed for navigation and exploration of information. They all display real-time information from any data source without storage of data. The graphs that we develop are customized for the business, giving greater value to the visualization of the data. We also included in this type of development applications to configure and manage these dashboards from mobile devices. This type of project may entail important needs in terms of the capture and processing of information sources, so it is related to other complementary cases of data mining or big data.
The result generated by the project is a powerful graphical interface of presentation of data, of great visual attractiveness, focused to work in multiple platforms and to be used of diferent way according to the role and profile of the user. Beyond internal aspects of processing and preparation of the information, the project supposes a deep work whose objective is to understand the rules of the business and the best way to translate requirements into attractive and valuable visual information for each user, extracting the maximum of what technologies of exploitation, analysis and graphical presentation of data are currently at our disposal.
